Laura Fouser

Who am I? I am a child of God, adopted by my heavenly Father into his family. This adoption was made available to me through the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and his subsequent resurrection. He is my Savior and Lord and I love Him.

What do I do? I am privileged to serve God in cross-cultural ministry in Campo Grande, MS, Brazil. As a “Church Planting Assistant”, I do a lot of things, working in and through the church plant “Igreja Batista da Bíblia” (Baptist Church of the Bible).

I use the booklet "The Story of Hope" as an evangelistic Bible study.  I invite people to do the study with me (I call it an "Orientation to the Bible" study), and I go the homes of those who desire to study.    

Thanks for praying that the Lord would bring the right students to us, that He would give us wisdom in sharing his message, and that the students would have open hearts to receive the message and trust in Christ as Savior!

Discipleship 

I use the book "The Way to Joy" as a discipleship Bible study for young and new believers, and for more advanced students and those wanting church membership, we use the 13 lessons written by Faith Baptist Church of Layfayette, IN.  I lead discipleship Bible studies with two ladies last year.  Please pray that they would have an increasing knowledge and understanding of our great God. (Eph. 1:15+)

Please pray for Edilane and me as we teach the ladies’ Sunday school class (we are studying "Tongue in Check" by Joseph Stowell) Please pray that we would be able to complete what they are lacking in their faith. (1 Thess. 3:10).

Leadership Training

This year I worked with Rosi, training her in discipleship and the use of "The Way to Joy" in discipleship with Andrea. I am also working with Edilane as she learns to teach the ladies' Sunday School class.  For these and other materials, you can go to Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship (USA) or Sow & Harvest (Intl) and Goodseed.  Please pray that God would use these ladies to be the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. (2 Cor. 2:14-17)

My Ministry History

I was appointed by ABWE in July of 1990 to the field of Paraguay. I have been sent out by Faith Baptist Church of Sarasota Florida. After an internship in my sending church and fifteen months of pre-field ministry, I was off to Spanish language school on the border of Texas and Mexico. After eleven months there, I arrived in Paraguay in June of 1994.

I served in Paraguay until December of 2003 in the capacity of church planting assistant. I served in churches in and near the capital city, and also in churches in the interior in conjunction with the aviation ministry. I also graduated from Guarani language school there.

In December of 2003 I moved to Campo Grande, Brazil, to serve with the West Central Brazil team. I'm currently serving as a church planting assistant in the Igreja Batista da Biblia (Baptist Church of the Bible) in Campo Grande.
